Cable Wakeboard shortlisted as a possible new sport for the 2020 Olympic Games

The IOC Executive Board met today in Durban, South Africa ahead of the 123rd IOC Session, at which the host city of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games will be chosen. The EB agreed on a shortlist of sports that will be considered for inclusion in the sports programme of the 2020 Olympiad. The sports are: baseball, karate, roller sports, softball, sports climbing, squash, wakeboard and wushu, one of which could be added to the 2020 sports programme to be voted on by the 125th IOC Session in Buenos Aires in 2013. The programme can include a maximum of 28 sports. This is the next step in the journey of Cable Wakeboard. As an exciting spectator friendly sport with competing athletes of all ages and both genders, we are in a good position to be selected when the IOC decide in 2013. http://www.cablewakeboard.net/

Dear Users of Cableakeboard.net and Friends of the Cable Wakeboard Sport, we are one step closer to the Olympic Games. After nearly 40 years and a lot of work from a lot of Officials and sportsmen our Sport is again in the Olympic discussion. Clasic Waterski was 1972 demonstration sport. Now Wakeboard is nominated as one of the new fully included sports for 2020! 7 other Sports are also nominated and it will not be easy to be the best one and the one what is choosen in the end,… but it is even a big step and honor to be on the list. Millions of People will now inform eachother what wakeboard is and where and how you can do it until 2013 the decision will be done by the IOC Members.
